Kawasaki prairie 650 top speed

2002 650 prairie fuel issues. So I've been working on this old Prairie KVF-650 A1 and after installing a new harness (2 actually) i have come to a sticking point. With the key on and the fuel pump plugged in the dash goes nuts (whole thing flashing) and no fuel pumped when starter is engaged.
